Description

Glucosamine NSP — Cartilage Restoration and Joint Mobility

Glucosamine NSP is a standardized complex based on glucosamine sulfate and chondroitin sulfate, with manganese, vitamin C, and boron — nutrients critical for proteoglycan synthesis in cartilage tissue.

Mechanism of Action

Glucosamine sulfate — structural precursor of glycosaminoglycans and proteoglycans in cartilage. Stimulates chondrocytes to synthesize type II collagen and aggrecan. Suppresses pro-inflammatory enzymes (MMP-3, MMP-13) that degrade cartilage matrix.

Chondroitin sulfate — long-chain polysaccharide that retains water in cartilage and provides its cushioning properties. Inhibits IL-1β — the main cytokine driving cartilage destruction in osteoarthritis.

Manganese + Vitamin C + Boron — cofactors for collagen synthesis and cartilage matrix assembly.

Clinical Evidence

GAIT Meta-analysis (Clegg D.O. et al., New England Journal of Medicine, 2006): glucosamine + chondroitin combination significantly reduced pain in moderate-to-severe knee osteoarthritis (PMID: 16407413). EULAR guidelines recognize crystalline glucosamine sulfate as a SYSADOA — a symptomatic slow-acting drug for OA.

How to Use

Standard dose: 1–2 capsules 3x daily with meals. Drink ≥300 ml water. Minimum course: 8–12 weeks. For lasting results: 6–12 months.

NSP Synergy

Goal Combination
Maximum regeneration + Colloidal Minerals + Omega-3
Anti-inflammatory + Zambroza
Bone support + Calcium Magnesium Chelate

💬 Consultant’s Note

Glucosamine NSP is one of the few supplements with clinical evidence for joint support. The formula contains glucosamine HCl (1500 mg) and chondroitin — these two compounds synergistically support proteoglycan synthesis, the primary building material of cartilage. I recommend combining with IF Relief NSP (anti-inflammatory) and Omega-3 NSP for comprehensive joint protection. The effect is cumulative — a minimum of 3 months of continuous use is needed.

How does Glucosamine NSP support joint health?

Glucosamine is a natural amino sugar that is the primary building block of cartilage. It stimulates the synthesis of glycosaminoglycans and proteoglycans — the structural proteins of cartilage that retain water and provide joint cushioning. Chondroitin, also in the formula, attracts water into cartilage tissue, maintaining its elasticity and nourishment.

Who should consider Glucosamine NSP?

This product is recommended for: joint discomfort and stiffness, especially in knees and hips; mild to moderate osteoarthritis (as a supplement to treatment); prevention of degenerative joint changes in people aged 40+; active athletes and those with high joint loads; and post-injury or post-surgical joint rehabilitation.

How should I take Glucosamine NSP?

The recommended dose is 3 capsules per day (1–2 with each meal). Glucosamine's effect is cumulative: initial results (reduced stiffness, improved mobility) are typically felt after 4–8 weeks. The minimum course is 3 months. Take with food to minimise stomach discomfort.

Is there scientific evidence for glucosamine's effectiveness?

Yes. Studies show the glucosamine + chondroitin combination can support cartilage tissue and reduce joint discomfort. Meta-analyses indicate benefit in moderate and severe osteoarthritis. NSP uses glucosamine HCl — a form with confirmed bioavailability. Note: individual results vary.

How can Glucosamine NSP be combined with other joint-support products?

The optimal joint protocol: Glucosamine NSP + IF Relief NSP (anti-inflammatory formula with curcumin and boswellia) + Omega-3 NSP (anti-inflammatory fatty acids). For athletes, add MSM NSP (sulphur for collagen). This four-product combination provides a comprehensive approach: structural material + reduced inflammation + cartilage nourishment.

Can Glucosamine NSP be taken with a shellfish allergy?

Traditional glucosamine is derived from the shells of crustaceans (crabs, shrimps). If you have a crustacean or shellfish allergy, inform your doctor and check the product label carefully before use.

When is Glucosamine NSP contraindicated?

Use with caution if you have: diabetes (glucosamine may affect blood glucose levels — monitor carefully), pregnancy or breastfeeding (insufficient safety data), or clotting disorders and anticoagulant use. Allergy to any component is an absolute contraindication.
